I WAS THINKING ABOUT CAKES...

...because it's my birthday! So, I went in search of a birthday cake image and found these wonderful wedding cakes from Pink Cake Box. I love this fireman climbing to rescue his bride! How cute is that?! Also, had to give another shout out to Rollingpin Productions for their birthday cake and for their adorable cookies that I have blogged about before.

GONE BEACHIN'

I have been absent most of the week nursing a bad tooth and now I am off to the beach for a week of rest. I won't have much access to the blogosphere while I am gone. I will be back next week with some new ideas!

MORE TRENDY BRIDES!

Carolina Herrera's designs never disappoint! I love her feminine lines and her classy looks, whether in this lovely gown perfect for a garden wedding...

..or this delicious ball gown- looks like a cloud!

Maybe you prefer the stunning look of Lazaro. This dreamy confection would make any groom swoon at the altar! And the soft color is perfect for candlelit dancing, into the night!

Whatever your style, there is a dress for you. Remember these tips:

1. Never take a large group to shop! Go alone or take your mom or best friend. Too many opinions spoils your day.

2. Don't feel pressured! If you aren't sure, don't buy. But, if you put it on and you feel right- don't wait! Too many choices is very confusing. You may find it in one shop and it may take a few, but don't just get so caught up in shopping that you lose touch with your purpose.

3. Make an appointment! It is always better to have the shop expecting you and some shops work only by appointment.

4. Wear good underwear and shoes. Though most shops have "try on" bras and shoes, you will feel more comfortable in your own. And, if you are a little dressed up and have your hair and make up done, you will feel more like a bride.

5. Most of all, have fun! Your dress is out there and it may be you fall in ove with something unexpected. Keep an open mind and a happy heart and you will enjoy the process!

DRESS BASICS... AND WHAT'S NEW!

It's been awhile since I talked about wedding gown shopping, so I thought it was time for a refresher course in the basics. And, thanks to Bride's magazine for this helpful glossary of wedding gown terms to help you shop! In here, you will find all the terms for dress styles, necklines and fabrics that will make your search for that WOW dress so much easier.

These are some new trends that make my heart flutter! How about you?!

Are you the totally modern bride in this adorable Vinyard Collection dress? Or this old movie star inspired Priscilla of Boston bride?

How about the daring bride willing to wear this amazing red dress from Fabio Gritti- which also comes in these bold colors--
metallic, black, green, white, ivory, red, multicolor, pink.
There are so many choices, I may have to post twice about this one! Read on...

THE SOUND OF SILVER

I LOVE MY JOB! Every day I get to meet new people, discover new talent and stumble on new blogs. Today was no exception! Silver Sound DJS is a wonderful Philadelphia company that never disappoints. And, Steve Croce is the best! His blog is very interesting, always upbeat and very informative. Check out Steve's blog and Silver Sound for your wedding music. You will be so happy!

ALOHA TO THE SINGLE LIFE

Here's an idea for a bridal shower, a bachelorette party or a rehearsal dinner. I have to say the inspiration for this post came from one of my clients who asked me to find Hawaiian musicians for their ceremony music. In doing the research, I came across Aloha Style Dance and it got me thinking- what a great idea for one of the many celebrations leading up to the big day! So, don your grass skirt and your lei and start roasting the pig! It is going to be a Polynesian party.
